Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga North extended compassion through a blood donation activity on February 24, 2024.
Led by Brother Arnel Agorilla, district supervising minister, donors from the said district’s 40 local congregations and six extensions convened at the covered court of the New Era University-San Fernando City, Pampanga Branch from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. In collaboration with the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church, medical volunteers from Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital, which is situated at the village of Dolores, also in San Fernando City, attended to the donors. A total of 80 bags of blood were collected.
“I decided to donate blood as it is one of the ways by which I can extend help to those who are in need of it,” said Chriselle Marie Duenas, finance officer and Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officer, from the Local Congregation of F. Manalo. “It brings me joy every time I am able to take part in activities of the Church such as this.”
“Not only the receivers benefit from the blood being donated but also the donors themselves. By donating blood, they also reduce the risk of suffering heart attack,” stated Marian Reyes, CMDPS secretary, from the same congregation.
The socio-civic activity was held a month after the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) marked the centennial of its first ecclesiastical district in the province of Pampanga.— With reports from John Louie Domingo of INC News Section
