Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East, having reached its 30th anniversary, held clean-up activities under the INC Giving project. On different days in March, brethren in various local congregations united for the said activity.

First off was that of the Local Congregation of St. George, New South Wales (NSW), on March 2; then, the Local Congregations of Bankstown, Kellyville, and North Sydney, which are also situated in NSW, and Logan, Queensland the next day. The Local Congregations of Penrith and Sydney held theirs on March 16; Minchinbury on March 17; Blacktown City, and North Brisbane on March 23.

Bringing their cleaning materials, such as garbage bags and gloves, the brethren eagerly took part in cleaning their respective community centers, school grounds, parks, and nearby coastal areas: Slade Point Beach, Riverwood Public School at Union St, Riverwood; Hammond Park in Ashfield, Jonas Bradley Park, Chatswood Park, Kingswood High School at Bringelly Road, Fitzgibbon Community Centre at Ronghan Road, and Parramatta Park, among others.

Liza-Marie Cacnio, district KADIWA president from Sydney Congregation in New South Wales, was among the activity’s organizers. “Activities such as these not only help clean our surroundings but also serve as opportunities for family and friends to bond with each other,” she said.

“It feels nice to be of help to the community,” said Romuel Cacnio, a deacon from the same congregation.

“Participating in this activity shows our good intent and even promotes Christian values to the community,” said Dean Parreno, KADIWA president of North Sydney Congregation. — With reports from Lorrie Kate Salomon of INC News Section
