As the academic year 2023-2024 came to a close, the students and staff members of the New Era University (NEU) held a special gathering at the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Temple on May 7, 2024 to thank and praise the Lord God for His help and guidance.

“This special gathering is our way of offering praise and thanksgiving to our Lord God for His love, patience, and guidance, which we have felt throughout this academic year, as well as the formal gathering of the graduating students of batch 2024,” NEU President, Brother Albert R. Domingo Jr., said.

Brother Senen C. Capuno, Central District supervising minister, officiated at the special gathering. In his Bible-based homily, he emphasized that the main goal of God’s true servants in all that they do is to serve the Almighty. Thus, he said, the knowledge and skills that the NEU students have acquired should be used in a manner that glorifies God.

“NEU has always taken great pride in its unique Christian culture anchored on the timeless values written in the Holy Scriptures. We aim at developing men and women who are God-fearing, competent, and discipline,” stated the university president.

Brother Capuno also reminded the attendees that as much as people desire for success, that which is true comes only from God. So if they are seeking to gain knowledge, all the more that it is the knowledge from God—His words—that they should seek and adhere to.

Theodora Danica Almozara, a graduating student of the College of Business Administration, said, “I am so thankful to God because through His help and guidance, I will soon be finishing my studies. I am also grateful to the Church Administration for all of the activities that they launch, especially under the Christian Brotherhood International (CBI), which not only served as a great help to me in my studies, but also as a venue for me to gain friends who would support me, especially in performing my Christian duties.”

Brother Domingo further said, “This academic year has seen the university attain 100% passing rate in seven licensure examinations, among numerous other achievements. It is the university’s hope that as our graduates excel in their chosen fields of specialization, they also become exemplars of Christian maturity and selfless service to humanity.” — With reports from Kenneth Bien Seguiro and Oliver Torres Lumogdang
