“As a teacher, this activity has all the more cultivated that sense of belonging, unity, and shared purpose among co-teachers. It reinforces my passion for education, that is, making positive impact on young minds,” said Esmeralda Lee Yau. “It’s heartwarming to be appreciated.”
The “Teachers Appreciation Day” hosted by the Local Congregation of Port Louis, in Mauritius, which is under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Southeastern Africa, on April 26, 2024 benefited teaching professionals of the Early Years Primary School in the said city.
“The activity aimed to recognize and commend teachers and educators’ dedication and hard work in shaping the minds of the youth,” said Brother Justin Paul Aguinaldo, resident ministerial worker.
During his opening remarks, Brother Aguinaldo also welcomed the educators to Church activities, inviting them to attend evangelical missions and worship services. Afterwards, all in attendance watched a video presentation expressing gratitude to teachers. Certificates of recognition were then handed over to them, as well as care packages. Before the activity concluded, everyone further bonded over a palatable lunch the brethren also prepared. — With assistance from Nikko Jimenez
