Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Local Congregations of Tondo in the Ecclesiastical District of Manila, and Bel-Air in the Ecclesiastical District of Makati in the Philippines, held separate blood donations. These were made possible in collaboration with the Iglesia Ni Cristo Social Services Office (SSO) and Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS).

The former was held at the conference hall of Tondo Congregation’s house of worship on June 15, 2024, while the latter at the Melecio Laurete Hall of Barangay Poblacion’s covered court in Makati City on June 22, 2024. A total of 102 blood bags were collected during the activities. The beneficiary organizations were the Philippine Children’s Medical Center and Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center.

Among the donors was Joanne Santos, deaconess and Light of Salvation secretary from Tondo Congregation, who, “out of the desire to bring glory to God, and to help people in need of blood, always make sure to take part every time there is a need for [her] to donate.”

Ava Joy Nonan, choir member and Buklod officer from Bel-Air Congregation expressed her thankfulness for “being able to take part in the said activity which not only benefits those who are in need, but also the donors themselves.” Meanwhile, Rey Vergara, caretaker of the same congregation’s house of worship, and has been participating in blood donations held by the Church since 1997, promised that he “will never cease in active participation in all of the activities of the Church that glorify the Almighty God.” — With reports from Michaela Misa of INC News Section
