Brethren who serve in various capacities in the Technical Support for Video streaming (TSV) in 13 ecclesiastical districts in the Ilocos and Cordillera regions of the Philippines convened at respective houses of worship, among other designated venues for a special gathering on June 28, 2024. TSV is the Church group responsible for setting-up video and technical systems for various activities mainly for worship services.
The Ecclesiastical District of Benguet hosted the said events. Brother Romer D. Galang, the Overseer for Church officers, officiated the said gathering at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Baguio City.
Present at the host site were the district supervising ministers and TSV coordinators from the 13 participating districts (Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Candon City, Ilocos Sur, Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Laoag City, Mt. Province, Abra, Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Rosales, Pangasinan, San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Lingayen, Pangasinan, and Urdaneta City, Pangasinan) along with the TSV local leads of every congregation therein.
Through his Bible-based preaching, which was streamed live to remote sites in the aforementioned districts, Brother Galang exhorted the attendees to always do what pleases God, that is, to devotedly perform their duties in the Church.
“I’m so thankful because our Church Administration always remembers our spiritual welfare. In our time wherein technology is ever advancing, we were reminded to utilize such innovations to better perform our services to God,” said Brother Jay-ar Mariñas, the TSV coordinator in Abra. “In our district, even in remote places, the preaching of our Executive Minister reaches them through the use of modern technology.”
The following day, delegates attended a series of seminars at the Camp John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City. A registration of attendees preceded the seminars at 8:00 a.m.
Representatives of the Church’s Technology Resource Group (TRG), Sound Reinforcement Group (SRG), and Engineering and Construction Department (ECD) discussed Audio Seminar, Webex End User, Computer Hardware, Video Systems, TSV Panel and TSV Room Upgrading.
At 1:00 p.m., the delegates went to the booths prepared by each participating districts. They featured current trends and innovations that could benefit the Church when it comes to tapping the potentials of technology.
“The seminars widened our perspective about how we can improve the quality of the Church’s activities which utilize technology, especially our worship services. Such goes to show that the Church Administration is sincere about caring for the Church,” said Brother Marc Jordan Calma, the TSV coordinator in Ilocos Sur. “On my part, I will further dedicate myself to fulfilling my duties in the Church.” — With assistance from Jayson Doronio and Jefriel Mateus
