Spreading the Good News
Spreading the Good News
Spreading the Good News of salvation is one of the principal missions of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ):
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned’.” (Mark 16:15–16 New King James Version)
“And now the Word of the Lord has spread out from you to others everywhere, far beyond your boundaries, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your remarkable faith in God. We don’t need to tell them about it.” (I Thess. 1:8 Living Bible)
Be it by interpersonal approach or through mass communication, we carry out this holy work with a sense of urgency, knowing that it is only a matter of time before this world comes to its terrible end (Zeph. 1:14, 18; II Pet. 3:7, 10; Matt. 24:3, 33, 6–8).
Everyone, from the newest to the oldest members, is expected to do his or her part in sharing the gospel. This is not something new. Members of the Church Of Christ during the first century also worked side by side in spreading God’s message of salvation: “And I ask you, my true teammate, to help these women, for they worked side by side with me in telling the Good News to others; and they worked with Clement, too, and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are written in the Book of Life” (Phil. 4:3 Living Bible).
Helping spread the Good News is a holy endeavor. We ourselves will benefit from our enthusiastic involvement and the sacrifices we make in this mission of sharing our faith. Apostle Paul gives the assurance that the names of those who help the ministers in telling the Good News “are written in the Book of Life.”
