Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) from 13 local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga City, Philippines participated in a community clean-up drive on July 30, 2024.

Thus, the Local Congregations of Bongao, Canelar, Guiwan, Isabela, Jolo-Sulu, Lamitan, Pasonanca, Recodo, Suterville, Talon-Talon, UP Sta. Clara, Vitali, and Boalan united in cleaning the streets of Brgy. Zambowood.

Brethren, sporting INC Giving shirts and equipped with cleaning materials, such as sanitary gloves, garbage bins, sacks, and brooms, collected various types of waste, ensuring proper sorting and disposal.

“Today’s initiative is part of our commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Church. It also serves a way of demonstrating our kindness towards our fellowmen,” said Brother Dennis Arada, the resident minister of Boalan Congregation.

Emelyn Sta. Elena, a finance officer from Boalan, shared her enthusiasm, “I’m excited to participate in today’s activity. I look forward to it because I know it will be a great opportunity to contribute in making our environment cleaner.”

Hazel Carpentero, a KADIWA and choir member from the same congregation, expressed her gratitude: “I thank the Church Administration for organizing such a socio-civic activity. It not only helps the residents of Zambowood maintaining their surroundings clean but also plays a crucial role in strengthening the faith and brotherhood among the brethren.”

Brother Rene Roman, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, led the activity with the help of CFO officers of the district. — With reports from Julieto Bangiao
