On July 27, 2024, the day the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) reached its 110th anniversary, two ecclesiastical districts in the province of Tarlac, Philippines conducted baptisms, making the occasion doubly special for the newly baptized members.

Capas, Tarlac

In the Ecclesiastical District of Capas, Tarlac, the baptismal gathering was held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Francisco-Concepcion.

There were 82 new members added to the Church in that part of Tarlac in this month of July. As per the district office, hundreds more of prospective members were being prepared, and were themselves preparing, for the coming months.

Before the actual baptism, Brother Joselito Canlas, assistant district supervising minister, preached to the baptismal candidates a Bible-based lesson concerning the spiritual blessings, especially hope of salvation on Judgment Day, their baptism inside the Church Of Christ was to bring about.

“The words of our Lord God truly touched my heart and soul. God’s pristine words are the primary reason I joined the Church Of Christ,” shared newly baptized Sonny Fabian from the Local Congregation of Navy.

“This occasion manifests the brethren’s dedication in helping more people towards being saved on Judgment Day,” said the Navy Congregation’s resident minister, Brother Christian Trinidad. “Given that we are celebrating the Church’s 110th anniversary, we are even more inspired to continue helping in the work of propagating the true faith.”

Tarlac City, Tarlac

In the neighboring Ecclesiatical District of Tarlac City, Tarlac, over 150 would be-members were formally admitted into the Lord’s flock after their baptism held at the house of worship of the Tarlac City Local Congregation.

Brother Bhel John Ubaldo, district supervising minister, who officiated at the pre-baptism gathering, reiterated to the baptismal candidates through a biblical lesson the importance of membership in the true Church Of Christ.

“Becoming a member of the true Church Of Christ means a lot to me. It made me truly lead a righteous way of life,” shared Noel Manalang, a newly baptized from the Local Congregation of Balingcanaway. “Also, having received baptism on the exact day of the Church Of Christ’s anniversary is a very unforgettable phase in my life,” he added.

“Through the baptism that was held in our district, we were able to accomplish with God’s help, a part of the intensive propagation work, which is indeed a perfect way to not only celebrate the Church’s 110th anniversary but most importantly to give glory to God on this very important milestone,” enthused Brother Dexter Jereza, the district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer.  — With reports from JM Bildan and Gianna Intong
