On July 27, 2024, the 110th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), members in the Ecclesiastical District of Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines, participated in a blood donation. The humanitarian activity was held in the grounds of Adriano’s Place Garden Resort, Brgy. Cabalaoangan, San Quintin, Pangasinan.
The said activity was held with the aim “to help both INC members and nonmembers who are in need of blood for medical purposes,” according to Brother Junnel Camacho, assistant district supervising minister.
A total of 79 blood bags were collected during the said activity, which was led by the district’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in collaboration with representatives of the Philippine Red Cross-Urdaneta City chapter.
Among the donors who passed the medical screening prior was Michael Estigoy of the Local Congregation of San Quintin, who expressed that he was “glad for being able to take part in this activity.” Meanwhile, Romwel Ganeb Jr., from the same local congregation, encourages every one “to participate in such activities for the benefit of both donors and recipients.”
Jezryl Mira, blood donor recruitment retention and care officer of the Philippine Red Cross-Urdaneta City chapter, explained that “every bag of blood donated can help up to three individuals.” On behalf of the said organization, she “thanks the Church Of Christ for conducting the said activity which is truly helpful especially during these times that many people are in need of blood.” — With reports from Blaise Angeli Hidalgo
