The Ecclesiastical District of Central Europe recently opened the Kassel Group Worship Service (GWS) in Germany. Its inaugural worship service was held in a multi-purpose hall at Dorfgemeinschaft Maden e.V. Hans-Gessier-Strasse 1, 34281 Gudensberg, Germany on August 10, 2024.
Brother Joel Catalan, district supervising minister, officiated at the holy occasion. In his Bible-based preaching, he emphasized how vital it is for members of the true Church to prioritize their services to the Lord God. Wherever they maybe, or whatever situation they might be in, serving the Almighty must be their primary concern being true servants of His.
Brother Catalan also exhorted the brethren to hold fast their faith. In times of distress, he reminded them, God is always ready to hear their prayers and they must uphold a life that is pleasing to Him by always obeying His commands.
“This development is a manifestation of the continuous guidance the Church Administration has for our brethren all around the globe. Our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, sincerely aims to lead all of us to be constantly pleasing to our Creator,” Brother Catalan said in an interview after the gathering.
The members of the Kassel GWS used to attend worship services with the Frankfurt Congregation, which is more than 100 kilometers from Kassel. They now have their their own place of worship along Niederelsunger Street, 12 34289 Zierenberg, Oberesungen, Kassel City, Germany.
One of the brethren from Kassel, Nena Hesse, who was in her 80s, said, “My heart is filled with so much joy for the Lord God has granted our request. Through the Church Administration, we now have a place of worship that is more accessible to us. Thank you so much Brother Eduardo Manalo for caring for our faith.”
Brethren from Frankfurt and Wiesbaden Extension travelled for more than two hours just to be present during the worship service. Asked why, head deacon Victor Turinsky, from Wiesbaden, said, “I remembered our early years in Wiesbaden, on how the Lord God helped us through the years. Thus, I truly believe that this event shows that it is God’s will that His work of salvation spreads here in Kassel.” — With assistance from Elicia Faith Bartolome
