“Edifies the faith,” enthused Antonio Taruc, head deacon from the Local Congregation of Tenejero, of the Heritage Tour he and fellow Church overseers, together with group secretaries from various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan, Philippines, attended on August 17, 2024.

Brother Wileugene Perez, the district Church Officers Overseer, led the delegates. They went to the house of worship of the Church’s first local congregation, that of Punta Sta. Ana in Manila, and its former house of worship which is now a museum; from there, they proceeded to F. Manalo, San Juan, whose compound used to house the Church’s Central Office; and then to the INC Museum in Quezon City.

The last but likewise significant part of the activity was the officers’ attending of the worship service at the Central Temple.

“This has been a great help to me. Knowing the Church’s history has deepened my perspective on how I regard my Church duty, especially God. I’m further inspired to all the more cherish my God-given duty,” said Kristel Shane San Juan, a secretary in the Local Congregation of San Pedro, upon entering the museum in Punta Sta. Ana.

Having explained to them the relevance of every historical site they visited was “so interesting, so enjoyable,” said Hannah Prado, secretary in the Local Congregation of Pag-asa. Seeing in person where the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) began, and learning how was the Messenger when he began preaching “has further motivated me to stay active in fulfilling my duties before God,” she added. — With reports from Leiah Cortez of INC News Section
