With the growing number of members of the Local Congregation of Port Moresby, PNG residing in and near Kennedy Estate, the Ecclesiastical District of Australia West established an extension in the said area upon approval of the Church Administration.
Marking the Kennedy Estate Extension’s establishment was the inaugural worship service that was held at its approved place of worship located at Allotment 116, Kennedy Estate, 7 Mile, Bomana, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea on September 8, 2024.
Brother Romeo E. Beltran, district supervising minister, presided over the historic and sacred occasion. Before delivering the prepared lesson, he first read the message of the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). In his message, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo expressed, among others, his love and prayers for the brethren in that part of the island country.
Brother Beltran, in his homily, encouraged them to continue dedicating themselves to fulfilling God’s commands written in the Bible in order to please Him. He led them in thanking the Almighty Father for answering their prayers that they may continue worshiping Him in a place not only suitable but more accessible to them.
Aside from that, “we want to bring [the Church Of Christ] closer to people. [Through this development] they will have a greater chance knowing the truth and the way of salvation, and that is indeed our mission inside the Church,” said Brother Beltran in an interview.
The brethren from Kennedy Estate used to attend worship services with the Port Moresby Congregation, whose house of worship is around six kilometers away from their residences.— With reports from Quiza Quinola of INC News Section
