The first day of October 2024 was filled with fun and camaraderie for the Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong, as brethren there participated in the INC Unity Games held at the Kowloon Walled City Playground, Kowloon City.

Brethren from all over the district converged and witnessed their respective congregation’s representatives test their mettle during friendly games of basketball and volleyball. The cheering competition also gave delight to the spectators.

“Events like these are truly vital for our welfare. It reminds us of the importance of being physically active, as well as the love of brotherhood. The games entail competition but for the brethren, unity and concern for their fellow players are more important as such please our Lord God,” said Brother Noer Misa, the district supervising minister.

In the basketball event, the local congregations were grouped into three teams: Blue, Green, and Red. The Blue Team, which was consisted of players from the Local Congregations of New Territories, Lantau Island, Sham Shui Po, Tuen Mun, and Yuen Long, won against the Green Team.

The volleyball players from the Local Congregation of Yuen Long won against that of the Local Congregation of Kowloon; the Local Congregation of North Point’s players placing third. Meanwhile, the North Point Congregation’s squad took center stage in the cheering competition.

“It’s really a good time for the Church members to meet with each other as it is not often that they see their fellow brethren from various local congregations,” said Brother Jonathan Jove, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. “We shared joyful moments; bonds strengthened.” — With reports from Kris Gayle Seneca of INC News Section
