Choir members in the adult and Children’s Worship Service (CWS) in the Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Ontario had their faith strengthened when they attended a special gathering at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Scarborough on February 19, 2025.
Eastern Ontario District supervising minister Brother Marlon Guinto led the occasion. In his homily, he reminded the choir members their zeal in fulfilling their duty, that is, “They view this [as a] wonderful responsibility to lead His people in singing praise, glory to His most holy name,” he said.
“I maybe young but [while] I do my singing, I feel [how] I’m helping the brethren to [invite] God’s presence,” said CWS choir member AJ Pascual of the host congregation.
Markham Congregation CWS choir member Pink Quintos said, “I really love to sing. I train a lot of times. I’m thankful to the Almighty God.”
Among the attendees from the Local Congregation of Rouge Park were choir members of three generations. They are May Obcena, choir member for more than 60 years now; Myra Bigayan, May’s daughter; and Micha Bigayan, May’s granddaughter.
“I know that when I sing, I become closer to God,” said May.
“It’s a blessing to perform together because we know that our joy is here,” said Myra. Her daughter Micha added, “I’m so thankful that my mother and my grandmother are members of the choir. I love being a member of the CWS choir.” — With reports from Patty Quintos of INC News Section
