PANIQUI, Tarlac — More than 120 blood bags were collected in a successful blood donation drive that would benefit patients of the Tarlac Provincial Hospital (TPH).

The blood donation activity on Saturday, March 8, 2025, held at the San Manuel Cultural Center in Tarlac was organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC). Hundreds of INC members participated in the activity. With the help from members of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) of the INC, a total of 124 blood bags were collected during the event.

Dr. Renalyn Manalo of TPH said that the donated blood would greatly help the hospital’s patients and thanked the donors for their life-saving contribution. “These donations are essential for us to help our patients.”

Brother Ronaldo Losloso, the INC District Minister in Paniqui, Tarlac, also thanked the participants, emphasizing the community’s strong spirit of unity.

“We are glad to see so many people are willing to donate,” he remarked.

Donors shared their motivation for participating in the event.

“We want to help those who need blood. It’s a way of giving back to the community,” said Marina Macatuno, a regular blood donor.

“It felt good to help. Every donation matters,” said first-time donor Julie Allingag.

Long-time donors Bernardo Allingag Jr., and Erika Dolly Peroche expressed their commitment to continue helping people through blood donation activities. Peroche, who donated blood for the tenth time, said, “I’m happy to be able to help.”

Eduardo Banez who has donated blood at least 54 times in the last 30 years, said that this was “my way of supporting people in need.”

First-time blood donor Hazel Eunice Mateo, a college student, said that she was nervous at first. “But I felt happy knowing [that] I helped someone.”

The INC frequently holds blood donation activities in various parts of the country, and even abroad, as part of the INC members’ commitment to help their fellow men.
