To promote physical fitness and quality time with fellow brethren and their respective families, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur, Philippines participated in a Fun Walk activity on March 25, 2025.
Spearheaded by the district’s Christian Employees Association (CEA), the brethren gathered before sunrise at the “I love Bislig” welcome marker, Bislig Baywalk. They then engaged in stretching exercises before the one-kilometer walk to Don Herculano Basañez Boulevard.
“To help me stay healthy, I eat nutritious foods and engage in physical exercises,” shared Whenna Birao from the Local Congregation of Tagbina. “Activities such as this fun walk help in nurturing the body, all the more keeping us members inspired as we perform, not only our day-to-day tasks, but our services to God most importantly,” she added.
“Engaging in physical exercise by walking is helpful in avoiding various ailments,” said Tabon Congregation head deacon Faustino Masabot. On behalf of the said congregation, he further stated, “We’re grateful to God for the Church Administration looks after our physical well-being by supporting our conduct of this activity.”
CEA officer Desiree Taghap expressed, “It’s truly a delight to see many brethren attend the activity.”
District supervising minister Brother Danilo Gala Jr. who led the activity expressed that it was in adherence to the Executive Minister’s call to “obey God’s command to remain abounding in the faith, which Church members can further achieve when they look after their health.” — With reports from Via Angelica Federizo of INC News Section
