“In this gathering, we reflect on the Lord God’s continued love, support, and mercy to our district,” said Cherry-Ann Tuazon, choir leader of the Local Congregation of La Paz.

As part of their district’s 73rd anniversary commemoration, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Abra, Philippines, offered praises and thanks to God during a special gathering they attended on August 18, 2024.

Brethren from local congregations gathered in their respective houses of worship, which were connected to that of the Local Congregation of Bangued, the host site, where Brother Warren Torrales, district supervising minister, led the occasion.

Brother Torrales preached a biblical lesson exhorting the brethren to uphold their noble desire of uniting with the various endeavors of the Church, and always seeking God’s help, for them to succeed in such aim and also receive His blessings.

“My hope and faith have been all the more strengthened,” said Marlou Pacleba, head deacon of the Local Congregation of Pidigan. “I will all the more trust in our Lord God at all times.”

The Ecclesiastical District of Abra was established in 1951. Recalling the district in its nascent years, “Through God’s mercy and help, I’ve witnessed how it triumphed through the years since its humble beginnings,” shared Agapito Biscarra, 76-year-old Buklod member and head deacon of the Local Congregation of Bio. “Before, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo were belittled, now we are respected and admired for our unity.” — With reports from Arnold M.
