A true Church officer endures and triumphs over hardships in life. That, Brother Ruel Zapata, supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan Del Norte, in the Philippines, and fellow ministers, imparted during special gatherings held on June 22 and 23, 2024.

Almost 200 new officers in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) took oath of office during the said gatherings.

On the first day, Brother Zapata officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Butuan City. Meanwhile, Brother Wilfredo Sumang, assistant district supervising minister,  officiated at the Local Congregation of Cabadbaran. Fellow ministers constituting the district leadership officiated at the Local Congregations of Ampayon, Cuyago, Florida, Manapa, Mandacpan, and Nasipit wherein Church officers in nearby local congregations also attended.

“I was reminded that trials and hardships are inevitable, which is why I have to be strong in the faith as a Church officer. In this way, I could also inspire other brethren to also be strong in the faith,” shared Letecia Cabuntocan, a deaconess from the Butuan City Congregation.

The same biblical message was imparted by the ministers the next day as more special gatherings were held. Brother Zapata led the gathering held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Buenavista; Brother Sumang at the Local Congregation of Colorado.

Other district staff officiated at the special gatherings held at the houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Amparo, Kitcharao, La Union, Lemon, Remedios T. Romualdez, and Santiago to cater for the nearby local congregations within their respective areas.

Newly inducted Binhi president Henry James Urgel, of the Local Congregation of Libertad, shared,“I will always consider my Church duty as a blessing from God. I will do my best to lead, and be a good example to my fellow young brethren in our local congregation. I will uphold this duty no matter what.” — With reports from Cheivy Soliman
