The Local Congregation of Antipolo in the Ecclesiastical District of Rizal, led by its Christian Family Organizations (CFO), held back-to-back activities on January 25 and 26, 2025.
Fun Run
On January 25, 2025, brethren, many of whom are with their families, gathered at the jogging area of Pinagmisahan Street in Barangay Delapaz, Antipolo City for a fun run.
Around 400 runners took part in the event wherein some ran for 2 kilometers, while others took the extra effort to run 4 kilometers.
At the end of the activity, the first three finishers from the Buklod, KADIWA, Binhi, and Children’s Worship Service (CWS) received medals and other prizes. Named as first placers for each category were Rose Roco (Buklod – 2km); Leoh Placido (Buklod – 4km); Lester Sabasa (KADIWA – 2km); Seph Momay (KADIWA – 4km); Princess Joy Iligan (Binhi – 2km); Nino Eduard Banatao (Binhi – 4km); Kiona Silvestre (CWS – 2km); and Michaela Espinosa and Precious Iligan (CWS – 4km).
Congregation secretary Ludwig Van Eugenio expressed that he “enjoyed taking part in this activity.” Meanwhile, CWS watcher Laurence Sallan was “amazed upon witnessing the great number of brethren who serve as good examples of zealously participating in Church activities.”
In a separate interview, husband and wife Abel Ayala, choir member, and Bhea Laica Ayala, Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) member, shared, “we strive to bring our children to activities held in the Church as part of instilling the true faith into them.”
Medical Mission
Led by Buklod officers, the congregation hosted a medical mission on January 26, 2025, in the compound of their house of worship. More than 200 brethren and nonmembers alike benefited from the free services rendered, among which were blood sugar test, blood pressure monitoring, and the distribution of reading eyeglasses.
“Opportunities such as this are sought by many people especially nowadays that even a medical check-up costs greatly,” stated Maricel Oliva, among the beneficiaries.
Janet Victorio, a nonmember, expressed that she “was happy for being able to avail the free medical services offered during the event.” She added her admiration to Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members “who never cease to care not only to their brethren but also to their fellowmen.”
“The activities were held to further fortify the bond among brethren in our local congregation, and to express that as much as we give value to providing our spiritual needs, it is also vital that we take care of our health, and also that of our fellowmen,” explained congregation CFO overseer Brother Jun Bautista. “By participating in activities such as these, brethren strive to become more zealous in joining Church activities which truly please God.” — With reports from Romina Espinosa and Jomari Pelagio
