Annaliese Ashton, a manager in the Lifeblood Teams Program of the Australian Red Cross (ARC) said, “We are amazed by the number of your members to show up and booked to donate blood. Like here in Penrith Blood Donor Center, aside from the scheduled donors, there were walk-ins and they are too, members of your organization.”

The congregation in Penrith was just one of the congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East that held a blood donation activity on February 25, 2024. Church members from the congregations in Brisbane, Campbelltown, Canberra, Gold Coast, Kellyville, Liverpool, Logan, Penrith, and the Central Coast Group Worship Service also participated in conducting the said humanitarian activity.

“Indeed, groups like that of the Iglesia Ni Cristo are so important in maintaining the ability of our centers to respond to those in need of blood (transfusion), which help build our community, as your members show a high level of concern for our fellowmen. Really, thank you for your ongoing support to our cause,” Ashton added on behalf of ARC.

For the success of the activity, the brethren first booked appointments with the Australian Red Cross (ARC) before going to blood donation centers nearest their respective local congregations.

“As a donor myself, I see this blood donation as a way of utilizing the health that God gives us in providing help to those in need,” said Ian David, the Buklod district president from the Local Congregation of Penrith. “Events like these also give us opportunities to respond to the call of the Church Administration that we continue doing good, which is one of God’s commandments.” — With reports from Lorrie Kate Solomon of INC News Section
