The Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East, in the Philippines, hosted a special gathering for all Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officers at the house of worship of Pasig Congregation on December 10, 2024.
Officiated at by Brother Herbert Lazala, assistant supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East, the special gathering also served as a way to remind the officers to “be exemplars, especially to the young members under their care, by upholding a Christian way of life in the midst of an immoral and permissive society.”
Brother Lazala further detailed that they can all the more be able to become role models to their fellow youth if they remain steadfast in obeying God’s commands. By doing these, CWS officers highlight to the children the importance of their membership in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
“In a world filled with wickedness, it is crucial to guide the young members in the right direction so that as they grow, they will remain active in the Church, ever faithful to God,” said Jennica Bacungan, CWS president of the Local Congregation of San Juan.
Shanina Romero from the De Castro Congregation, a CWS teacher said, “I promise to wholeheartedly fulfill my duty and become an effective helper of the Church Administration in overseeing the spiritual welfare of the children.”
“On behalf of all the CWS officers in our district,” Brother Mark Malicat, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, expressed, “we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Church Administration for the unwavering love and guidance to all members of the Church, including our young members. On our part, we will faithfully carry out our duties, guiding the children in doing what pleases God.” — With reports from Sir Aris Galias
