The Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan West held a blood donation drive at the Regional Evacuation Center in Malolos, Bulacan, Philippines on December 28, 2024.
The district officers of the Christian Medical Dental Paramedical Society (CMDPS) collaborated with the New Era General Hospital (NEGH) staff for the conduct of this humanitarian event.
A total of 122 bags of blood were collected from the many brethren from all over the district who qualified as blood donors after going through medical screening.
“It is always good to donate blood. I saw firsthand the importance of doing such when a close friend of mine needed blood back then,” said Bernard Rosales, a finance officer from the Local Congregation of Bulakan. “Since then, it has become part of my routine to donate blood to [be of help to] those in need. Above all, what we do here is in obedience of God’s will.”
Regarding the benefits of regularly donating blood, Dr. Camille Alipio, who was among the event’s organizers, explained, “Giving blood has many good effects on the donor’s heart. It reduces the risks of heart attack, and help maintain normal one’s blood pressure. And this activity also responds to the constant need of blood donation for hospital patients in need.” — With reports from Kim Madlang-awa of INC News Section
