Promoting concern for the environment, Buklod members in the Ecclesiastical District of Nueva Vizcaya led fellow brethren during a tree-planting activity that was held on June 12, 2024 at Mt. Macalanga situated in Barangay Manamtam, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines.

Led by Brother Fermin Paquiao, the district supervising minister, the brethren planted pomelo and guyabano saplings in a portion of vacant land owned by Jimmy Toledo, a deacon, and his wife Febelyn, a deaconess, both of the Local Congregation of Bambang.

“Through this activity, we’re able to be of help in caring for our environment. Also, it has united the brethren, making us more active in the faith,” the district supervising minister said.

“This activity is a way of lessening, if not prevent, damages due to calamities,” said Marlon Dela Cruz, a forest ranger and an active Buklod member from the Local Congregation of Sto. Domingo. “Trees help conserve soil, its roots improve land stability, thereby preventing erosion and landfall when calamity strikes. And, tree planting will benefit not only us but also the future generations,” he explained. — With reports from Andrelei Orel Pagtama of INC News Section
