The Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga North, through its Christian Family Organizations (CFO) office, hosted consecutive activities in January 2025.
Retraining seminars
First off of the said activities were CFO officers’ retraining seminars held at houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Angeles City (January 6, 2025), Tabun AC (January 7), Dau Mabalacat (January 14), New Era (January 17), Pulung Cacutud (January 18), Clarkview (January 19), Model Community (January 20), Calzadang Bayu (January 21), and Madapdap (January 24). Close to a thousand officers benefited from the activities, which were led by Brother Leo Gerrad Marc Lazaro, district CFO overseer.
“It was a timely opportunity for CFO officers to be reminded once more of our duties and responsibilities so that we will continue to be of benefit to the Church,” said Rowell Amante, district Buklod president.
“What we’ve learned during the seminars will be of great help to us in further developing our skills,” stated Remmel Nicdao, Sta. Cruz Porac Congregation’s Binhi president. Meanwhile, district KADIWA vice president Crizel Ezra Dayrit added that “with the knowledge imparted to the participants, we will be able to help in implementing various activities for the welfare of the brethren.”
Blood donation
On January 25, 2025, brethren from the district’s congregations expressed their compassion to their fellowmen through a blood donation activity that was held at the covered court of New Era University (NEU) Pampanga Branch.
The Social Services Office (SSO) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) led the said endeavor, in partnership with Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital.
A total of 134 blood bags were collected in the socio-civic activity.
In an interview, Model Community Congregation head deacon Ernesto Garcia Jr., who is a repeat-blood donor, stated that he decided to do such “for it is one of the ways of helping people.” His wife, Debbie Garcia, deaconess from the same congregation, and a first-time donor, shared, “I’m happy that I was able to do my part in helping save more lives.”
Binhi board games
A day after, on January 26, Binhi members gathered at the elementary quadrangle of NEU Pampanga Branch to join the district’s board games.
Youth members took part in playing chess, sungka (a traditional Filipino mancala game), “Who is it?” (a two-player game wherein players use yes or no questions to identify each one’s hidden character), and Game of the Generals.
“To interact with my fellow Binhi members from different congregations is truly a joy,” expressed Matt Enzo Francisco, local congregation secretary in New Era Congregation.
District Binhi president Calhista Kitz Lacsina explained that the activity was held “as a means of strengthening the bond among youth members in the district, and through this, we will be able to remain united in giving glory to God.”
SCAN team building
On January 31, members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) held a team building activity at the covered court of NEU Pampanga Branch.
Among the activities included in the event were a seminar discussing the responsibilities of SCAN members. The participants also enjoyed playing interactive games aimed at further developing their interpersonal skills.
In his participation in the event, Cutud AC Congregation SCAN member Venchie Bermonde, stated that “this activity has helped me become more confident in working with different teams towards the attainment of a common goal—to save lives.”
‘To please the Almighty’
Brother Lazaro, on behalf of the district leadership led by Brother Arnel Agorilla, district supervising minister, expressed their gratitude to the Church Administration “for implementing various activities which all aim to edify the faith of God’s chosen ones. We will continue leading the brethren in doing all things that please the Almighty God.” — With reports from John Louie Domingo
