More than a hundred members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Davao del Norte District, Philippines, volunteered as donors in a blood donation activity held at City Mall Tagum, Gabriel St., Tagum, Davao del Norte. A total of 137 of those who came qualified as blood donors after undergoing health screenings; 61,550 cc of blood collected.

The district Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers collaborated with Davao Regional Medical Center Blood Bank and Tagum City Health Office in facilitating this socio-civic activity.

Other than being of help to her fellowmen, Majal Villanueva of Panabo City Congregation is always inspired to donate blood at every opportune time as “blood donation saved my mother’s life last year when she was in need of blood transfusion. I recognize blood donors as heroes,” she said.

“We hold blood donation activity almost twice a year,” said district CMDPS president Dra. Melinda Gregorio. “It is delightful to see many brethren participating in this kind of activity, showing their unity with the aim of the Church Administration to help fellowmen, and most of all, to please the Lord God,” she added. — With reports from Charleen Rayos of INC News Section
