Part of the INC Giving initiative, the Local Congregation of Weston, Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba conducted a tree planting activity at Camp Assiniboia, a retreat center along Lido Plage Road in Cartier, Manitoba, Canada on September 22, 2024.

Brother Roland Andrade, district supervising minister, led the socio-civic activity. Together with brethren-volunteers, they planted 750 conifer tree seedlings, mostly white spruce, being Manitoba’s provincial tree.

“We had a wonderful day. Everybody participated and supported this endeavor and it’s wonderful to see the volunteers,” expressed Ken Fosty, certified Manitoba arborist working for Tree Canada, a charity that is planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments across Canada. The trees planted “will provide multiple benefits, such as shade, shelter, aesthetic beauty, wildlife habitat, recreation, and clean air,” he added.

“Our Executive Minister Brother Eduardo Manalo, and the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Coordinator Brother Angelo Eraño Manalo constantly teach us the importance of demonstrating our unity with the Church Administration to be zealous in Church activities as it is God’s will, including that whenever we possibly can, we must do good to those who need it,” Brother Andrade said. — With reports from Jason Clarence Abrias
