MAKATI, Metro Manila — The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) assisted the community and those in need through a blood donation on June 22, 2024 held in various parts of Metro Manila and nearby Bulacan.

Many INC members came to the venue early like Ronald Biñan, 34, a technician. “May pasok po ako ng alas diyes kaya inagahan ko na makapunta para makapag-donate sapagkat ito ay pagtulong sa nangangailangan, na turo ng Panginoon [Since I had to go to work at ten o’clock, I went early to donate because I knew I would be helping those in need, which is the Lord’s teaching],” he said.

He attended the blood donation activity held at the Poblacion Covered Court in Makati City which started at 8 a.m.

The INC, through the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS), conducted the activity in partnership with the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC).

A similar blood donation activity was also held that day by the INC in others parts of Metro Manila such as in Quezon City, and in the CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) district, as well as in Bulacan East District. Many INC members also came to these events to donate blood.

CMDPS is a group of medical practitioners assisting in medical and health projects that help members or nonmembers of the INC.

INC members who joined these socio-civic activities said they did this to show love to those in need. They also do this to fulfill God’s commandment to show kindness and care for their fellowmen.

“Nagdonate po ako ng dugo para po makatulong sa kapwa bilang pagsunod sa utos ng Diyos na pag-ibig po sa kapwa natin [I donated blood to help others, in fulfillment of God’s command to love our fellowmen],” said Ava Joy Nonan, a resident of Bel-Air in Makati City.

Blood donation is an activity that has been “done for a long time in the Church Of Christ, not only here in [the Bel-Air Congregation] but in various congregations of the Church,” stressed Brother Marcial Guamos, an INC minister and blood donor.

There have been numerous INC blood donation activities not only here in the Philippines, but in other parts of the world as well.

The members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) strive to help those in need and the communities they belong to.
