PASAY CITY, Manila – INCTV has received prestigious awards from the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT) at a ceremony held at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City, Manila. These accolades highlight INCTV’s unwavering commitment to creating and delivering child-friendly content.
INCTV received an award for “recognition of its outstanding commitment to Child-Friendly Content Standards (CFCS).” Two of its programs, “Little Juan’s Playlist” and “INC Kids Adventure”, each received an award for its exemplary adherence to Child-Friendly Content Standards (CFCS), last October 18, 2024 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.
The NCCT is dedicated to nurturing young minds through meaningful content that fosters moral values and strengthens national identity.
Professor Flordeliz Abanto, a respected figure in media and education, emphasized the importance of this achievement. “As a religious organization, INCTV has significant potential. With a captive audience, they can effectively inculcate values in parents, which are then passed on to their young children,” Abanto said. “It’s reassuring to know that their programming promotes positive values, right information, and education appropriate for kids.”
Desideria Mance Atienza, Executive Director III of NCCT, thanked the participating television networks including INCTV “for producing entertaining children’s shows on television.”
“We are looking forward to a better partnership of how you will offer more child-friendly content for the Filipino children. For next year and onwards, there will be more activities such as strengthening the award so that more people like you will be recognized and content creators who have a heart for children will spring out,” she said.
Sally Lopez, a dedicated educator and council member of the National Council for Children’s Television, highlighted the importance of child-friendly TV shows, explaining that the NCCT is pushing for more child-friendly programming as mandated by the Children’s Television Act of 1997. This includes both shows produced specifically for children and those that, while not exclusively for children, are suitable for them to watch. She emphasized the adherence to the Child-Friendly Content Standards (CFCS), which include educational value, positive messaging, and age-appropriateness. Ms. Lopez also praised INCTV for exceeding the required 15% child-friendly content in their programming.
Brother Edward Castro, minister of the gospel and program manager of Little Juan’s Playlist at INCTV, expressed his gratitude to NCCT for the recognition given to INCTV and its programs. “Thank you very much to the National Council for Children’s Television for recognizing INCTV, INC Kids Adventures, and the program Little Juan’s Playlist,” he said.
“We also thank our CEBSI President and CEO, Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, for his continued support. And especially, many thanks to our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for his tireless and unwavering guidance for the youth. All glory is for our Lord God,” he said.
Castro said that the awards underscored the impact of INCTV’s programming in educating and inspiring the youth, ensuring that the content is both engaging and enriching.
