KADIWA and Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) activities were respectively held by the neighboring ecclesiastical districts of Marikina and Metro Manila East, in the Philippines. These activities were aimed at further honing the leadership skills of officers in said organizations within the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
Presidents’ Meet
The Presidents’ Meet of the Marikina District was held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bayan-Bayanan on January 17, 2025. Through this activity, district KADIWA officers met with their fellow youth leaders from various local congregations of the district. Together, guided by materials provided by the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), they discussed the upcoming activities of their organizations and ways to better lead their fellow KADIWA members in various Church activities.
Brother Jake Jambaro, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, supervised the event. In his closing remarks, he emphasized using the Bible how important is it to diligently fulfill their respective duties—not taking them for granted—being spiritual gifts the Lord God Himself has given them.
Regarding the significance of the event, “it has helped us not only in planning for upcoming events in our district but also in strengthening the bond among us KADIWA officers while being continuously guided by the Church Administration,” said Cassey Tayoto, KADIWA officer in Parang Congregation.
CBI Officers’ Meet
The Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East held back-to-back activities, which were aimed to prepare the student officers for the upcoming academic year, 2025-2026. The first was the CBI Officers’ Meet, which was followed by the Effective Public Speaking Seminar. Both were held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of De Castro on January 18, 2025.
In the first activity, district CBI directress Monica May Kataoka led a brainstorming session with fellow officers, focusing on how to better lead students in the district.
Kataoka said that “we hope to inspire fellow Iglesia Ni Cristo students in different schools to be consistently active in CBI activities rather than fraternities, sororities, and the like.”
“We truly need occasions, such as this, as we hope to be of help to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, by looking after the spiritual welfare of our brethren who are also students,” said Benhur Bench Palencia, CBI district officer.
Meanwhile, former New Era University (NEU)-College of Communications CBI Chapter President Jazmine Anne Teves served as the resource speaker, in the latter activity.
“I learned that to be understood, when speaking, especially with brethren, it is vital to have proper diction and tone,” said Marc Andrei De Paz, CBI district officer. “This is helpful to us since, as Church officers, we regularly speak to those under our care, conveying to them reminders and, at times, instructions from the Church Administration,” he added.
Through the guidance of ministers and ministerial workers in the district, especially Brother Mark Malicat, the district CFO overseer, CBI officers in Metro Manila East vow to remain zealous in caring for INC students.
