To help oversee and edify the growing number of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the 34 local congregations under its supervision, the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East in the Philippines inducted new officers through special gatherings that were held on June 23, 2024.

The occasions were separately conducted at the houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Pasig and Concepcion. Brother Gerino Lalata, district supervising minister, and Brother Ronald Capunitan, assistant district supervising minister, officiated, respectively. Through the words of God written in the Bible, they detailed the conviction about their duty that officers in God’s nation must have, their aim and purpose, their qualities, as well as their hope.

Church officers from local congregations situated in Mandaluyong, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, including most of those in Pasig, convened at the Pasig Congregation’s house of worship; those that gathered at the house of worship of Concepcion were from congregations in Marikina City, and the Local Congregations of Karangalan Village, Manggahan, and Santolan.

“It feels great having been entrusted a holy duty from God,” said Angelito Aquino, a newly appointed podium assistant in the Local Congregation of San Juan. “With this duty, I will be able to reach out even more effectively to brethren in our congregation for them to remain edified in the faith,” he added.

There were also young members who were sworn in, including McJustin de Castro in the Local Congregation of Sampaguita Village, who affirmed zeal to fulfilling duty as the said congregation’s Binhi president. “I hope to show my concern for and inspire my fellow young brethren through this duty I have inside the Church,” he said.

“It is wonderful to see that there are brethren who are willing to accept an office in the Church, which means they are willing to allot time, effort, and energy to help the Church Administration in edifying their fellow Church members as they serve the Almighty God,” said Brother Michael Samir Shohdy, a ministerial student assigned in the Local Congregation of Bayan-bayanan. — With reports from Metro Manila East District Multimedia
