Part of the commemoration of the 92nd anniversary of the Ecclesiastical District of Bataan, in the Philippines, a musical competition, organized by the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers, was held at the atrium of Vista Mall in Balanga, Bataan, on September 29, 2024.
Brethren from the areas of Balanga, Dinalupihan, Limay, Morong, and Orani competed and showcased their talents in singing and performing with a live band. They performed the Christian songs Sulong Kapatid, Tutupad pa rin (Keep progressing, brethren, continue fulfilling our duties), Magdiwang Tayo (Let’s Celebrate), Bangon na, Kilos na, Tayo na, (Rise, move, let’s go), Lagi Tayong Magpakatatag (Let us remain steadfast), and Lakas Ko sa Kahinaan (My strength when I am weak), respectively.
The Morong area was announced the champion; the Dinalupihan and Limay areas the first and second runners-up, respectively. They received trophies.
“I’m very glad to have been part of this activity. It’s truly overwhelming to have been able to use my talent to inspire the brethren to strengthen their faith,” enthused Kristian Calixtro, member of the winning choir.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Lord God for the abundant love and blessings He has poured onto our district, and to the Church Administration for always taking care of our faith,” said Noel Cunanan, performer from the Limay area.
Jude Villafranca from the Bagac Congregation stated, “Being united in this activity despite the distance is very fulfilling, knowing that it not only pleases God but also provides us with the opportunity to bond with other brethren, and witness performances that truly inspire the faith of everyone in attendance.”
The event concluded with a closing prayer that was led by Brother Manolo Villoria, assistant district supervising minister.
Also part of the anniversary celebration was the district-wide INC Unity Games that was initially held on September 21, 2024 at the Orion Gymnasium in Orion, Bataan.
