New choir members from various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila South, Philippines, were sworn into office during a special gathering for choir members held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Alabang on November 24, 2024. The said gathering was officiated by Brother Jerick S. Dela Cruz, district supervising minister.

Choir members lead the brethren, whenever they gather for worship, in singing hymns of praises to God, and to the Lord Jesus Christ. Brother Dela Cruz reminded the officers of their role in the edification of God’s people in these last days.

After the homily, Brother Nevangel C. Marcos, district Light of Salvation overseer, led the oath-taking of 56 new members of the choir.

Among those who took oath was Jean Bentrand Buaya. He accepted the duty of Children’s Worship Service organist of the Golden Acres Congregation. “I thank God because this duty I received is a gift from Him, and this gathering has further edified me in the faith,” he enthused.

“Special gatherings like this give strength and inspiration for every choir member. These are much needed as we continue fulfilling our duty,” said Nemerson Mariano, choir director. Having been edified, he added, “The Church Administration can expect from me that I will not only lead my fellow choir members in the right way of singing the hymns but also contribute to their being dedicated in fulfilling our duties in the Church.” — With assistance from Nathaniel Ilago II
