From January to March 2025, Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officers in the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand North led fellow young members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in conducting a Parents Appreciation Day.
The said activity was held in selected venues in each congregation. Those of the Massey Congregation held theirs on January 24, 2025, Waikanae and Wellington (February 8), Hutt Valley (February 9), Hamilton and Manukau (February 15), Manukau South and North Shore (February 16), and Papakura (March 2).
Some of the CWS members showcased their rendition of INC original songs that promote parent-child relationship grounded on biblical teachings. Others also gave flowers to their parents. There are also those who made personalized cards.
“I appreciate the sacrifices of my parents to me and my sisters, always guiding us especially in performing our Church duties. I thank them for everything they’ve given us,” said Manukau Congregation CWS choir member Jeayan Patling.
“The parents were delighted and happy as they saw how their children appreciate them,” observed CWS teacher Jamaica Tabontabon. On behalf of fellow CWS officers and the children, she added, “We’re thankful to our Lord God for using the Church Administration in leading us in our services to God. This activity has helped in guiding the young members of the Church in following one of His commandments, which is loving and respecting our parents.” — With reports from Derrick Vivas of INC News Section
