To all the more be able to cater to the spiritual welfare of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Finland, the Northern Europe District, endeavored to establish, with the approval of the Church Administration, two group worship services (GWS) namely, Turku and Tampere.
With this development, brethren in Turku and Tampere will now conduct worship services and other activities in the Church closer to their homes. Formerly, they had to attend in the Local Congregation of Helsinki, more than 160 kilometers and 180 kilometers away, respectively.
The inaugural worship service for both GWS was held on June 30, 2024 at Turku Castle, Linnankatu 80, Turku, Finland and was officiated at by Brother Vizar Balcita, supervising minister. He exhorted the brethren to always rely on what the Almighty God can do for them. This they can do by entrusting to the Father all their cares while remaining obedient to all of His commandments.
“Now that the brethren in Turku and Tampere are nearer to the place of worship, they will also be able to all the more share the true faith to more people in their area, thus pleasing God,” said Brother Fred Rigor, resident minister of Helsinki Congregation.
“We prayed so much to God for this day to come. He has granted our request and our faith has been all the more strengthened,” said Rose Ann Nitollano, a congregation secretary in Turku. “I truly believe that one reason God let me reside here is to share the true faith. Hardships will not cease to come, but as I trust and obey God, I firmly believe that He will not forsake me.”
“With the grace of our Almighty Father, the development of the Church in our district marches on. The brethren here are dedicated and devoted to share their faith with their fellowmen,” attested Brother Balcita. “They will remain doing so with all eagerness and devotion for the glory and honor of God. We thank the Church Administration for looking after our welfare.”
