“We want to show our neighborhood what it’s like inside the Church Of Christ, through these different activities,” explained Krista Araneta, KADIWA district officer from Montclair and among the event’s organizers.

On July 27, 2024, the 110th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of Orange County, California, held a Neighborhood Appreciation Day at the compound of the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Montclair.

“I came to get to know the Church [Of Christ] through the pamphlets the brethren gave in our neighborhood,” shared Luisa Juarez, a guest. “I’m with my kids. They tried face painting. We tried foods from different cultures, and we enjoyed it. Performances were great and I liked that the youth are really involved,” she further remarked.

Various activity booths availed the attendees of free food, services, and entertainment. There were talented brethren who performed their rendition of Iglesia Ni Cristo original songs.

The district leadership gave care packages to the guests. Grateful for the school supplies they received, the children even enjoyed the inflatables likewise set up in the venue.

Attendees thus enjoyed a day filled with camaraderie and celebration, reflecting the brethren’s aim to unite and support the community. “This activity has been a bonding moment for the brethren and guests, while we also share to them our faith,” said Patrick Alcantara, a head deacon in the Local Congregation of Fontana. — With reports from Carla Luansing of INC News Section
