Following the approval of the Church Administration, a total of 279 members of the Church Of Christ were added to the corps of officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon, in the Philippines.

Their appointment to various offices in their respective local congregations were made formal after their oath taking during the special gathering of Church officers held on July 2, 2024.

Brother Criselio de Lazo, district supervising minister, officiated at the holy occasion held in the house of worship of the Lucena City Local Congregation, which served as the host site.

Church officers from other local congregations gathered at their respective houses of worship, which were connected to the main venue via livestreaming.

In his Bible-based homily, Brother de Lazo exhorted the Church officers, old and new, to be fully dedicated to fulfilling the sacred duties that God gifted them out of love for Him, for the Church, and for the brethren under their care. The district minister inspired them by reading from the Bible the Lord’s promise of help and guidance to those who are faithful to Him.

Expressing the collective sentiment of his fellow newly-sworn officers, Richard Vengado, now a Buklod officer in the Gulang-Gulang Local Congregation, said, “I am thankful to our Lord God for the duty entrusted to me; this is truly a great blessing. I promise to fulfill this duty and serve God amid trials and hardships in life, through which I also remain united with the Church Administration.” — With reports from John Irvin Eballa
