Secretaries of local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Rosales, Pangasinan, in the Philippines, received spiritual nourishment and inspiration during the special gathering held at Acop Congregation’s house of worship on June 11, 2024.

Brother Rene J. Panoncillo, General Secretary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), officiated at the gathering. He expounded during his Bible-based sermon the significance of adding officers in the Church for the welfare of the brethren. He added that Church officers should fulfill their duties in a manner that pleases the Almighty God.

Also conducted during the occasion was the oath-taking of 71 new officers in the Church who recently completed their seminar-trainings. Among them was Gedelyn Framil, newly sworn Local Officers Records Custodian (LORC) of the Local Congregation of San Felipe, San Nicolas, who expressed her “joyfulness for being entrusted with such duty in the Church.”

Brother Francis Bernabe Mariñas, resident minister of Acop Congregation stated that “adding officers, such as secretaries, into the Church is vital especially now that Church membership is steadily increasing. They are able to help the Church Administration in caring for the brethren.” He further stated that as officers have problems of their own as other people do, thus, they “also need inspiration through God’s counsel to further edify them as they perform their divine duties.”

Teofilo Petines, head deacon of the Local Congregation of Acop for 44 years now, expressed his thankfulness “for being able to witness another triumph of the Church in [their] district which not only brought him joy, but also strengthened his faith as a Church officer.”

“Through the biblical teaching imparted to them, the local secteraries reaffirmed their conviction that they will remain firm in fulfilling the duties which they received from God,” stated Brother Raymond Rico, district overseer for Church officers. — With reports from Blaise Angeli Hidalgo of INC News Section
