To mark the 42nd anniversary of the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan Del Sur, in the Philippines, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) there held a special gathering and an evangelical mission on May 11 and 17, 2024, respectively.
The special gathering was led by Brother Arnel Canicosa, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) School For Ministers (INC-SFM) President, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bayugan City, which served as the host site. Other local congregations connected to it via videoconferencing.
During the study of God’s words, Brother Canicosa highlighted to the attendees the blessings that await members of the true Church who hold fast their faith until the end—blessings not only here in this life but also in the life to come, which is eternal life come Judgment Day.
“Thanks be to our God Almighty for the blessings, such as successes in the holy endeavors, He has bestowed on our district,” enthused Ernesto Atup, deacon in the Local Congregation of Bayugan City.
Michelle Calumpag, choir leader of the same congregation, said, “The lesson taught reminded us all that the blessings we enjoy as members of the Church Of Christ are made possible because God is true to His promises, especially to His servants who steadfastly hold onto their election.”
Meanwhile, Brother Garlando Gamboa, minister of the gospel, led the evangelical mission at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Covered Court in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur. The nearby Naligayan Sports Complex served as the secondary venue where the preaching of God’s words was livestreamed.
Brother Gamboa emphasized to all in attendance the reason the Iglesia Ni Cristo conducts evangelical missions, that is, to fulfill God’s commandment that His true servants share the pristine gospel with all people, so that they, too, may receive salvation on Judgment Day.
“I’m grateful having been able to listen to God’s words upheld by the Church,” said John Mark Pabualan, a guest from Prosperidad Congregation.
He was just one of the many guests who continued listening to learn more about the biblical teachings upheld in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
“With God’s mercy, the brethren’s efforts were not in vain; more than 1,900 guests attended the evangelical mission,” attested Brother Ardencio Pomeda, district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer. — With reports from Rayson Dela Peña and Eliane Bancairen of INC News Section
