PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Around 400 seedlings of native trees endemic to the Philippines, such as Narra, Almaciga and Mahogany, were planted in Sitio Nazareth, Barangay Buenavista in Pagadian City as part of the INC Giving Project of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).
The INC Giving Project aims to spread kindness and promote community welfare. Their tree planting activity under this program also sought to raise awareness among individuals and communities about the importance of tree planting to combat natural disasters such as floods and landslides. Through this activity, the INC encouraged everyone to work together to protect the environment.
Families participated in the activity. Parents and their children joined the tree planting as a way to enhance awareness about the importance of protecting and nurturing nature and the environment for future generations. It also served as a bonding activity, fostering unity and camaraderie.
Members of SCAN (Society of Communicators and Networkers International) in Pagadian City and young INC members volunteered to assist in the tree planting activity held at a vacant lot in Sitio Nazareth.
