Two local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Caloocan North, in the Philippines, held separate blood donation drives under the auspices of the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

The Mt. Heights Congregation conducted the humanitarian event on January 2, 2025 in the covered basketball court at the subdivision of the same name. The F. Manalo Congregation carried out its version of the activity on the 18th at Northern Bayview Hills Subdivision covered court.

Members of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) in the district helped in facilitating the necessary procedures.

“Blood donation, such as those conducted in Mt. Heights and F. Manalo, are in adherence to the biblical teaching of loving others,” said Brother Rhoedman Lloyd Ybañez, district Christian Family Organizations overseer.

“There is benefit in donating blood at least once a year,” explained Lorraine Fajardo, district CMDPS president. “A qualified donor can avoid various heart illnesses; his blood flow will improve if he donates blood.”

Aside from supervising the brethren entrusted in his care, Brother Alexander Apiado, resident minister of the F. Manalo Congregation, “did not hesitate to donate blood upon knowing that I qualify to do so for, through this, I’m encouraging more brethren to become donors and thus be of help to those who need it.”
