“Thinking that I would be of help to my fellowmen banished my fear of joining a blood donation,” said first-time donor Francis Ruther Ford Ecabeza, KADIWA president of the Casantaan Congregation, in the Ecclesiastical District of Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines. “And since I am a KADIWA officer, I thought that participating in this activity is a good opportunity to be able to inspire more brethren to be of help.”

Ecabeza was among the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members who willingly participated in the district-wide blood donation activity that was held at the Laoac Municipal Hall on November 2, 2024. Brother Elmer Abalos, district supervising minister, oversaw the event.

The socio-civic activity yielded a total of 72 bags of blood and benefited Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC). Officers of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) as well as the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society assisted the R1MC staff during the said activity.

“We are glad that our district was able to conduct another blood donation,” shared Brother Frederick Velasco, assistant district supervising minister, who was also among those who were qualified to donate. “We continue to hold socio-civic activities like this because we are aware of how this can help our fellowmen,” he added.

“It feels fulfilling,” enthused Katrina Kyle Verzola, choir member in the Caramutan Congregation. “I volunteered donating to be of help to my fellowmen.” — With reports from April May Lopez and Elykim Mamasig of INC News Section
