The Ecclesiastical District of Urdaneta City, Pangasinan in the Philippines, hosted a musical evangelical mission on November 17, 2024. The evangelistic activity was held at the San Manuel Gymnasium.
“We are thankful that despite the inclement weather, the brethren were not hindered in obeying God’s will to share the faith,” Brother Elmer Abalos, district supervising minister, said.
Choral groups, soloists, and a band, from various local congregations in the district performed some of the Church’s original music, which convey fundamental doctrines of the Bible that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) upholds.
There were a total of 19 performances presented. Halika na, Kaibigan (Come Join Us, Friend), Happy Victory, God’s Messenger Was Not Afraid, The Church Continues On, Mga Alipin Sa Malayong Silangan (True Servants from the Far East), were some of the hymns sang.
Ministers were assigned to read Bible verses in between performances, emphasizing the indispensability of the true Church Of Christ for man’s salvation.
“I learned a lot about the Bible and about the Church Of Christ. The performances were more than entertaining, they were heartfelt. I will strive to learn more about God’s words,” said Nicole Muros, a guest.
“The performers put a lot of effort, rehearsing many times, and prayed for the success of the activity, as we are eager to please our God,” said Brother Sherwin Tina, district music team adviser. Learning about the guests expressing interest to know more about the biblical teachings the Church upholds, he enthused, “The Lord God answered our prayers.” — With reports from April May Lopez of INC News Section
